Drew and Heather Spoelstra farm in Binbrook Ontario and are passionate advocates for the agriculture sector. They grow grains and hay, milk cows and raise beef cattle as partners in Roy-A-Lea Farms Ltd. and they breed registered Clydesdale horses with their daughters Hadlea, Harper and Kasey.

The Spoelstras were born and raised on farms near Hamilton and have been involved in agriculture for their entire lives. Heathers passion for livestock shone through as she worked to build a herd of Clydesdale breeding stock and show quality hitch horses. Today their Roy-A-Lea Clydesdales brand, markets horses across North America and exhibits at many Ontario fall competitions.  She actively participates in heavy horse committees and works to maintain a high standard of animal health on the farm.

Drew has always been passionate about the farm and the community. After graduating from the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program (AALP Class 13) he set his sights on representing farmers at provincial level with the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA). He was elected as the 33rd President of OFA in 2023 and leads a team of dedicated individuals advocating on behalf of 38000 members across the Ontario farm landscape.

Drew owns Roy-A-Lea Seeds Ltd., supplying local customers with Pride Seeds and C&M Seeds products. He’s an equal partner in Roy-A-Lea Farms Ltd., started by his parents in 1989. Together Drew and Heather work to support their family and diverse farm business to ensure that their farm has a sustainable future and an opportunity for generational success.
