Allison and Tyler McBlain are fifth-generation farmers with deep roots in agriculture, family, and community. Tyler was raised on a multi-generational farm alongside his father and grandfather where he developed a strong appreciation for the land, hard work, and environmental stewardship. He pursued his passion for agriculture at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus and returned home to build a career in farming. Today, Tyler manages the day-to-day operations of McBlain Farms Ltd, producing corn, soybeans, wheat, and oats using regenerative practices, precision agriculture, and data-driven decision-making, focused on long-term soil health and sustainability.

Allison was raised on a small farm and spent more than a decade as an elementary school teacher. While she never planned on a career in agriculture, her background in education, organization, and communication has become an integral part of the farm business. After the birth of their third child, Allison transitioned into a leadership role behind the scenes, supporting logistics, administration, and coordination while managing their home and raising their children. She continues to blend her passion for education and agriculture through programs like Bite of Brant and active involvement in their children’s schools.

Community involvement is a core value for the McBlains. Tyler has served as a volunteer firefighter since 2008 and remains active in agricultural organizations, while Allison volunteers extensively in education and youth programs. Together, they are raising three children with a shared commitment to stewardship and leaving the land and their community stronger for the next generation.
