(February 2 ,2026 – Abbotsford, BC ) On January 22nd, at the Pacific Agriculture Show, BC’s Outstanding Young Farmers announced Corné Quik as their regional winner. He will proudly represent BC/Yukon at the National Event in Vancouver BC in November 2026.
Corné grew up on his family’s farm. He completed 2 years of post graduate business schooling at UFV which taught him the basics of business but his greatest career growth has been a product of being hands-on involved each and every day alongside his team.
Today, alongside his father and two brothers, he co-owns the farm serving as General Manager of their bouquet production facilities, greenhouses, outdoor growing spaces, logistics and maintenance.
Being a vertically integrated floral provider, in the fertile Fraser Valley soil of Chilliwack B.C., means they do everything from planting, growing and cutting their products to designing, selling and producing top-quality bouquets. Quik’s Farm has 20 acres of state-of-the-art greenhouses and an additional 40 acres of outdoor field production. They currently employ roughly 200 staff serving wholesale florists to big box stores in western Canada with the vision that there is no customer too big or too small to service.
Corné is supported by his wife Michelle, and together they raise 5 children.
The Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers competition of the BC/Yukon region had the pleasure to present three diverse and impressive operations during the 2026 regional competition. The recognized candidates were:
- Liam Ritchie – S. J. Ritchie Research Farms, Abbotsford, BC
- Corné Quik – Quik’s Farm Ltd, Chilliwack, BC
- Annelise Grube-Cavers – Fresh Valley Farms, Spallumcheen, BC
Amy Cronin, President of the COYF National Board and Carla Kaeding, COYF Program Manager were in attendance. Carla Kaeding had this to say about the event: “The judges were given a very difficult task to select someone to represent the BC region for 2026. The three nominees were very passionate about their operations whether it was organic pasture raised meat, boiler trials to improve efficiency or delivering cut flowers across Canada. They are all using innovation and technology on their farms to make their businesses better. The future of BC agriculture is in good hands.”
Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers competition is an annual competition aimed at rewarding the farmers who demonstrate excellence in their profession and promoting agriculture’s huge contribution. Open to participants under 40 years of age , whose major source of income comes from agricultural sources, participants are selected from seven regions in Canada, and two national winners are chosen each year. The program is sponsored nationally by Agriculture & Agrifood Canada, CIBC, John Deere, Bayer, Sollio Agriculture, Meridian Manufacturing, and CN with medias sponsors Glacier FarmMedia, and Nucleus Consulting and video sponsor Bamboo Shoots. It is supported nationally by BDO.
Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers of 2026 will be chosen during the national competition that will be held in Vancouver BC , from November 26th to 29th 2026.
