(March 22,2025 – Regina, SK) Brady & Lindsay Funk of Braylin Acres Ltd located at Wymark, were named Saskatchewan’s Outstanding Young Farmers for 2025. The Regional event was held at the Canada Farm Show on March 19-20 with dignitaries, sponsors and alumni in attendance. The Funk’s will go on to represent Saskatchewan at Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers competition November 2025 in Toronto.
Brady, being raised on a mixed grain and cattle farm in Consul, SK, https://oyfcanada.com/language/en/2025/03/22/saskatchewan-sel…ng-young-farmers/pursued his John Deere Agriculture Technician trade certificate through SIAST in Saskatoon, SK. while working at John Deere in Swift Current, SK, After their marriage, Lindsay and Brady moved to Wymark, SK to join Lindsay’s father & brother at the Hildebrand family farm.
In 2015, Brady and Lindsay incorporated their business, Braylin Acres Ltd, while simultaneously continuing to farm with family. Driven by years of drought and a desire to efficiently grow excellent crops, they started their solo venture when they bought land near Lucky Lake, SK, in 2021. Brady wanted to implement irrigation strategies, so he partnered with Southern Irrigation to develop 923 dryland acres into a fully integrated sub-surface drip irrigation project, which sources water from the South Saskatchewan River. Since beginning in 2021, Brady’s irrigation project has become Canada’s largest sub-surface drip irrigation project. This has been a massive undertaking, but has proven successful in growing beautiful, high-yielding crops.
Brady and Lindsay live on an acreage at Wymark, SK, where they raise their three children. Additionally, Lindsay works as a Registered Nurse in Inpatient Mental Health and runs a flower-farming business with her sister-in law. Brady and Lindsay love travelling with their family, coaching their children’s hockey, and are passionate about using their platform and gifts to help and encourage others.
The Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers competition of the Saskatchewan region had the pleasure to present three diverse and impressive operations during the 2025 regional competition. The recognized candidates were:

– Brady & Lindsay Funk- Braylin Acres Ltd – Wymark
The event was well attended and the region was pleased to have Saskatchewan’s Agricultural Minister, Honour-able Daryl Harrison, in attendance.
Ryan Mercer, First VP of the COYF National Board, commented on the competition: “I was pleased and excited to see almost 200 sponsors & alumni attend the 2025 Saskatchewan OYF regional event where the Funk’s were chosen to represent Saskatchewan at the national event this fall.”
Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers competition is an annual competition aimed at rewarding the farmers who demonstrate excellence in their profession and promoting agriculture’s huge contribution. Open to participants aged 18 to 39 years old, whose major source of income comes from agricultural sources, participants are selected from seven regions in Canada, and two national winners are chosen each year. The program is sponsored nation-ally by Agriculture Canada, CIBC, John Deere, Bayer, Sollio Agriculture, Meridian Manufacturing, and CN with medias sponsors Glacier FarmMedia, and WS and video sponsor Bamboo Shoots. It is supported nationally by BDO.
Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers of 2025 will be chosen during the national competition that will be held in Toronto, ON, from November 27th to 30th 2025.
